As many of you are painfully aware, the points event on June 22nd was called short due to inclement weather.
First, I want to thank the many folks who stuck out the rain and helped with the massive clean up. A special thanks to Paul Monday and Jason Marsh for making it happen at Ft. Knox. The good news is that we might have continued access to the site, hopefully up to 3 times next year! Now, details of how the directors of our club have decided to resolve issues from this last weekend after much discussion and many years of experience. Heats #1 #2 #3..........Points stand as earned. Heat #4...................You may apply entry fee to any of the remaining 5 2008 KY Region events, or you may get a full refund.
To get refund, please send mailing information to

or you may contact me (days) at 502-494-5329 Driver of Year Award.....N/A at this event. (i.e. PAX results from this event will not be factored into Driver of the Year award) I am sorry for the way things turned out last weekend, but just have not figured out how to keep the storms away. Maybe I need a better "Chair of Weather" person.

Just wanted to put a quick note out that online pre-registration for our next event at Ft Knox is now open. Just a reminder, this event is on an active military base, and you will likely be subject to a full search of your car and trailelr on the way in, so make sure to give yourself some extra time as well as make sure that no weapons of any sort, drugs, explosives, etc are in your vehicle and that your license, registration, and insurance are all up to date. Also, speed limits are strictly enforced on base, as well as a more recent ban on cell phone use while driving. They *will not* hesitate to ticket you.

Important News - Papa Johns Sound Levels |

It is vitally important that everyone understand the sound level restrictions we have at the Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium (PJCS) lot. As in years past, growing complaints from the surrounding neighborhood have put pressure on the club to strictly enforce sound limits. Readings will be made at all upcoming PJCS events. Those cars that are above a 95 db limit at 100 feet will be issued a warning to reduce their sound prior to the next run. If a competitor cannot create any reductions in sound level on the subsequent run, they will be black flagged for the event. Additionally, there are some less quantifiable but equally "offensive" measurements of sound - if a car is deemed to be a risk to our sound policy by three or more event officials, that car will also be black flagged.
Please make all efforts to comply with this request and if you have any doubt, err on the conservative side. "Turn downs" to the exhaust that create meaningfull reductions to overall volume levels are fine, however attempts to simply redirect exhaust away from the measuring meter or staying out of the gas when pointing at the meter are *not* acceptable solutions.
Thank you for your cooperation. Sites are very difficult to come by and anything we can do to improve our relations with the surrounding community is vastly appreciated. |

The Kentucky Region Drivers' School will be held Saturday, May 31st is easily the best bang for the buck that our region has to offer in terms of seat time, instruction, and experience. This year's school will be held at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium on the Saturday prior to our regular June 1st Points Event #3. The cost for the school is $75 for KYR Members and Associate Members and $85 for non-members. Please note that this fee includes your entry fee for the following day's points event. It also includes your lunch for the day on Saturday and will net you dozens of runs - solo, with instructors riding, and with instructors driving. Basically you can cram a season's worth of seat time into one day, focusing on some of the key elements that are common to a majority of autocross courses.
